MEET THE TRAINING STAFF

Joanna Weir

"Jo" has been at Central K9 since 2021. Jo has been under Jess's tutelage since the start of her dog training career, making her a well rounded trainer.

Jo's main focus as a trainer is the emphasis on building a dog's relationship with their owner. To foster this, Jo encourages her clients to not only work on obedience - but also have fun through tricks, frisbee, agility, barn hunt and more. Owners find this to be helpful in achieving a partnership with their dog that is meaningful and benefits both the dog and owner.

She can often be seen teaching agility or barn hunt. She owns different dog breeds - from terrier mixes, Chihuahuas to Border Collies. Jo competes in barn hunt, dock diving, herding, frisbee and more. Jo has competed at NADD regionals with her dogs. Along with this, Jo attends many herding trials and seminars, to better herself as a handler.

Jo is an AKC CGC, CGCA, CGCU and Trick Dog Evaluator, as well as a NADD Judge. She also is an active and highly valued member of our Central K9 Performance Dog Team.

Jo is a Lebanon, CT local, where she has geese, chickens, ducks, dogs, cats and of course her garden!
