CLASSES

We offer classes in all of the disciplines we offer at Central K9.

Check out our Facebook for frequent updates for available and upcoming classes!

Barnhunt

Central K9 is one of the leading Barn Hunt facilities in Connecticut! We have a special dedicated Barn Hunt area used only for nationally sanctioned trials. We keep the hay fresh, and the environment for both dogs and rats clean. This sport is for any dog and handler. Classes can be adjusted to all levels – from those wanting to see if their dog has an instinct, or those running Master’s level trials.

Upcoming classes:

Saturday 2/21, 11am – All levels, 6 week class with Joanna

OBEDIENCE

Puppy Kindergarten: For pups who have had at least 3 distemper shots, and their rabies vaccines. This is a great course to begin off on the right paw with your pup!

Basic Obedience: For those dogs who are not quite puppies anymore, but still need help with the basics. Emphasis on sits, downs, waits, stay, come, left/right finish, leash walking and more.

Distraction Training (Intermediate Obedience): Let us bring your dog’s obedience to the next level. This class helps teach your dog to ignore all the temptations that may surround them on a daily basis! This is a class for dogs who have competed puppy or basic, and are ready to step it up!

Competition Obedience: This is a private lesson basis.

Upcoming classes:

Friday March 6th, 5:30pm – Puppy Kindergarten, 6 week class with Joanna

AGILITY

Beginner: This is for dogs and handlers who are new to the sport, or want to build their confidence! Handlers will learn basic moves, as well as handling techniques. Dogs will start to become introduced to contacts, weaves, jumps and basic agility lines.

Intermediate: This entails dogs and handlers who have surpassed the basic level, and are ready to start putting small sequences together. This is a good class for beginning to learn what competing may feel like.

Advanced: This class is for the teams who are already competing, or just want to do more with their dogs. Courses and sequences are built to challenge the owner and dog, and to help increase agility handling techniques.

Upcoming classes:

Saturday 2/21, 2pm – Beginner Agility, 6 week class with Joanna
